Sylvia is almost four months...

Wow!  Didn't we just bring home a newborn!  Sylvia is growing so quickly.  She will be four months old this week.  She is not acting like a brand new baby anymore.  She is starting to coo a lot and even laughing.  She loves to have her sisters entertain her and Daddy even gets her to watch BYU football with him.  She has also started playing in her activity ring and she thought that was neat.  She is starting to be able to manipulate her hands and beginning the stage of putting things in her mouth.

Guess who turned twelve?

Photo150.jpg

Rebecca turned twelve and got a fun new haircut and makeover to celebrate!  Doesn't she look so cute and grown-up.  It is hard to believe that she is ready for Young Women.

She's here!

On Monday we welcomed our new princess into this world.  She is named Sylvia Genevieve and she weighed in at 8 pounds 12 1/2 ounces and 21 inches long.  She was delivered by a planned c-section and we are settling into life at home with four girls.  Sylvia is a sweetie and is great entertainment for her older sisters.  We are thrilled!

May Day

May Day in Hawaii consists of a huge celebration of the Hawaiian Islands.  The girls practiced for weeks for the special musical presentation that they held at school.  Becca got to do a traditional Hawaiian dance.  Elli got to play an island drum that is made out of a hollowed squash and sing.  Julia and her classmates got to shake their hips and do an energetic dance.  It was great to experience more of the Hawaiian culture.
The flowers that the girls are wearing in their hair actually grew in our back yard.  The landlord left lots of beautiful tropical plants for us to enjoy.
On a funny note, the girls had been complaining about all of the practicing that they had to do outside before the performance.  The weather had been warm and there are lots of biting insects on the school grounds.  After the performance, I told Elli that she had a nice big smile on her face during the concert and asked her if she had enjoyed herself.  She replied, "We had to smile!"  The girls keep me laughing.

Counting down the weeks....

Here are Julia and I celebrating Mother's Day.  I am 33 weeks pregnant and I am counting down the weeks.      We are very excited for the arrival of our newest princess.

Looks Good!

Today they did the echo on the baby and everything looked good!  She also looks like she is growing on track.  I was extremely relieved.

It's a ......

It's a girl!  We just had our ultrasound and found out that the Farnsworth family is expecting a princess!  We are excited.  Elli thinks that maybe the baby will fit into her doll clothes!  Everything looked pretty good on the ultrasound except that they said that she only has one artery in her umbilical cord instead of the usual two.  They will keep a close eye on her to make sure that she doesn't have any growth restriction because of that.  With that condition there is also a 25% chance of having another birth defect.  They will be doing another ultrasound in about a month and doing an EKG to make sure that her heart looks healthy.  So far everything looks good, but they have to wait until she is a little bigger to get a good view of her heart.  We are very happy to welcome another little girl into the family!
